Dolby and dcinex Announce Digital Cinema Supply Agreement
End-to-end cinema solutions provider adds Dolby support
Digital cinema services provider dcinex™ and Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) today announced an agreement to supply Dolby® digital cinema servers to dcinex cinema customers in the United Kingdom.
dcinex provides end-to-end solutions for digital cinema services throughout Europe and has already signed VPF deals with exhibitors for around 4,000 screens spread over 13 European countries.
Serge Plasch, CEO of dcinex said: ”It was a must for dcinex to include Dolby solutions in our existing product portfolio. We are now pleased to offer those products to our VPF customers in the UK.”
dcinex was born from the rebranding of XDC, FTT and Bewegte Bilder, and Dolby has worked with XDC and FTT over a number of years to offer a range of Dolby cinema equipment for exhibitors, including Dolby’s renowned CP750 digital cinema audio processor and the Dolby 3D system. The DCI-certified Dolby Screen Server DSS200 sits at the heart of the Dolby Digital Cinema system and is designed as an all-in-one platform to store, decode, and deliver pristine movies to the digital cinema projector.
“We are delighted with this agreement which reinforces our strong working relationship with dcinex,” said Guy Hawley, Senior Director, Product Sales, Dolby Laboratories. “It is also great news for dcinex’s customers, who can now choose Dolby digital cinema servers as part of their VPF deployment with the confidence that they are backed by Dolby and dcinex’s renowned technical support and services.”
