Christie Demonstrates Digital Cinema Projection Technologies at BIRTV 2014

Christie® is demonstrating its state-of-the-art digital projection technology at the Beijing International Radio, TV & Film Exhibition (BIRTV), taking place at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing August 27-30.

Widely acknowledged as the most influential exhibition for the broadcasting industry in Asia, BIRTV is the perfect platform to showcase the Christie Solaria Series DLP® Digital Cinema® projector that is capable of displaying premium 2D/3D High Frame Rate feature film and alternative content in its original format, giving audiences the best visual experience possible. A 24-seat internal theater at booth #2A232 features the innovative Christie Vive Audio™ solution that offers rich, dynamic and detailed sound for a complete cinematic experience.

“With over 85 years of rich experience and knowledge in the movie industry, we are pleased to feature our cutting-edge digital cinema projection technologies at BIRTV with a brilliant showcase of movie contents using the Christie Solaria Series and Christie Vive Audio,” said Lin Yu, vice president, Christie Asia Pacific. “We are confident that this demonstration will deliver a spectacular experience for visitors and further reinforces Christie’s position as a leader in the digital cinema projection market.”

Purpose-built for long-term reliability, the Christie Solaria Series is the industry’s most compact DCI compliant projector available today. It offers system specifications that accommodate both 2K and 4K resolution versions of the projectors, helping create cost effective and widely compatible digital cinema solutions. All Solaria projectors have accurate, brilliant color with superior contrast ratios and the light output necessary to light up even the largest auditoriums. Furthermore, the next generation DLP Cinema® electronics platform features increased bandwidth capabilities that expand the menu of options for alternative content and alternative revenue streams for cinemas.

Besides the demonstration, visitors at the booth can also view a static display of Christie’s state-of-the-art 6-Primary (6P) 4K laser projection system that offers vast improvements to 3D light levels, image uniformity, viewing comfort, and a sense of immersion. Also at the show are Christie Xenolite lamps, which are designed for the Solaria Series and that provide the brightest illumination for both 2D and 3D content projection.

In conjunction with its participation in BIRTV, Christie will deliver a presentation titled The Implementation, Operation and Future of High-End Cinema Laser Projection, which will take place at the Grand Hall, China Film Archives, on August 28 from 1:30 p.m-2.00 p.m. Delivered by Shuai Zhen, sales manager (Entertainment Solutions), Christie China, the presentation will focus on Christie’s laser projection technology and how its advanced visual solutions meets current and future needs of users.

On August 29, two hundred invited guests will be given a special demonstration of Christie Vive Audio - acclaimed for its truly rich, dynamic and detailed sound - as well as a presentation on Christie’s complete cinema solutions, including the latest laser projection system. This event will be held at Beijing CBD Wanda Plaza’s Hall 9 auditorium – the first cinema in Asia to be equipped with Christie’s cutting-edge surround sound systems.
