Motion Picture Solutions (MPS) announces Howard Kiedaisch as CEO

Motion Picture Solutions (MPS), Europe’s leading digital cinema services company, today announces the appointment of Howard Kiedaisch as CEO and Chairman of the MPS Group. Howard takes up the role on 1 May after serving in a number of senior leadership positions in the international film industry. He joins the company after nine years as CEO of Arts Alliance Media, while, prior to that, he was CFO for Universal Pictures International. Howard’s appointment — in MPS’s 10th anniversary year — reflects the company’s strategic plan which balances stability with innovation and growth.

“MPS’s capability has resonated strongly in the digital market and I’m delighted to help continue that momentum,” said Howard of his appointment, “Having watched the company over a number of years, I’ve always admired its culture, its agility and the respect that the MPS team has garnered among its customers and peers. I’m thrilled to be part of such an energetic and industrious team and my role will be to bring the company to the next level of professionalism while maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit that got MPS to where it is today.”

Ian Thomas, MPS’s founder, will continue with the company to focus on providing distributors with engineering and technical support — the services on which he successfully established the business in 2005. Looking back on MPS’s achievements of the past decade, he commented: “Thanks to the support of a committed team and our customers who have put their trust in us, Motion Picture Solutions has been on an amazing journey. With Howard as CEO, we will continue to provide the best services to both the exhibition and distribution communities. He has been a long-term and dependable friend and his dedication will ensure MPS plays a vital role supporting our industry across the range of sectors in which we operate.”

Matt Aspray, Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of MPS, explained how the appointment will help assure the company’s position in the industry: “Given MPS’s growth in recent years, bringing in an experienced CEO of Howard’s calibre is a natural progression for us. He has the business vision and leadership the company needs to drive it forward — and I’m really excited at the prospect of working closely with him.”
