The EDCF is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation that aims to act as a "Forum" to discuss key issues surrounding Digital Cinema in Europe. The Inter-Society for the Enhancement of Cinema Presentation, Inc. promotes interactive dialogue and information exchange between cinema-related entities with the goal of resolving issues affecting the overall cinema presentation. Founded in 1978 by Eastman Kodak VP Ken Mason, membership is composed of its four charter trade organizations - International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA), the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) - along with over 40 member companies, made up of trade organizations, motion picture studios, exhibition companies, manufacturers, technical consultants, and other industry stakeholders.

Motion Picture Solutions Announces Brent Watson as Head of Customer Technical Operations

Motion Picture Solutions (MPS), a leading international provider of world-class solutions to the cinema industry, today announces the appointment of Brent Watson as head of customer technical operations.
 
A leading figure from the technological side of the audio-visual industry, Brent takes up his new role immediately. He joins the London-based company after occupying a number of senior roles, including head of customer support for digital cinema at Doremi, and work on Sony Digital Cinema’s new product development for its SRX range of 4K CineAlta projectors and LMT100/200 media blocks.
 
“Brent brings a wealth of experience to MPS,” commented MPS CEO Howard Kieadaisch, adding that “MPS’s capability as an innovator in the digital cinema market is well established and the addition of Brent to our team will further enhance our reputation in this area. He has hit the ground running and we have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline that his specialist input will prove invaluable on.”
 
“MPS is a company I’ve enjoyed working alongside in the past,” explained Brent, “and the opportunity to work on their developing range of products is one I relish. The team at MPS has a very practical, can-do attitude which I can relate to — I’m looking forward to getting involved in some industry-changing projects.”
 
As head of customer tech ops, Brent will be responsible for product release management and testing, fulfilment of MPS’s technical services and active customer support, as well as monitoring of MPS’s leading web-based platforms, including the new content platform OnCinema and the latest generation of MPS’s KDM management system, KeyGen.
