Christie Showcases Complete Cinema Solutions For Various Market Segments at CineAsia 2015

Wide range of advanced projection technologies and audio solutions that cater to needs of cinema exhibitors on show at prestigious annual event

Christie®, a leader in creating and sharing the world's best visual and audio experiences, is showcasing a wide range of advanced cinema projection technologies and audio solutions at prestigious CineAsia 2015, which is taking place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, December 8-10.

Known as the only Pan-Asian convention dedicated to the Cinema Exhibition & Distribution communities, CineAsia brings together professionals from across the film industry, including cinema owners, suppliers, film buyers and distributors. At booth #201, Christie is presenting a comprehensive lineup of the latest cinema audio and visual solutions that cater to various market segments, and offer the best and the most complete cinema experience to movie-goers.

Preview of Cinema Laser Phosphor Projector and Launch of Retrofit Kit
One of the main highlights at the Christie booth #201 is a preview of the company’s first cinema laser phosphor projector on a 3.3-meter wide screen situated at the booth’s back wall, and the launch of a laser phosphor retrofit kit for use in any of its S2K cinema products.

The Christie CP2208-LP is the only purpose-built projector for cinema use that meets DCI performance specifications and is capable of producing 8,000 lumens in DCI P3 color space (10,000 native), and rated at 30,000 hours to 50 percent brightness. Visitors at the Christie booth are able to see the Christie CP2208-LP in action and will be captivated by the rich and colorful images produced by this exceptional lampless projector, which will be available in early 2016.

The newly launched LP-10 laser phosphor retrofit kit is designed for use in any of Christie’s S2K cinema products, including the Christie Solaria One/One+ and the new Christie CP2208 projection systems. The LP-10 retrofit kit will bring the same performance characteristics and operational advantages of the CP2208-LP to these widely deployed lamp-based projectors.

Brilliant Lineup with Christie CP2208, Vive Audio and CEN
Among the items on display is the new Christie CP2208 digital cinema projection system which delivers 9000 lumens within the DCI color space and more than 10,000 lumens when presenting alternative content. Designed for screens up to 10 meters wide, the CP2208 is capable of displaying feature film content using a third-party Integrated Media Block (IMB) or the easy to operate Screen Management Software (SMS) with the Christie Integrated Media Block (IMB-S2). Christie also provides a comprehensive range of lamp and lens options that offer a low cost of ownership, enabling cinema exhibitors to realize a faster return on investment.

Another highlight at the booth is Christie Vive Audio, the world’s first audio system featuring Christie’s innovative wall and ceiling surround speakers, which are powered by unique, ribbon-driver technology in a parabolic line array design, purposely built for the cinema environment. Products showcased in Christie’s booth include the LS3S surround speakers and S215 subwoofer, which are set up for audio demonstrations. The Christie Vive Audio system is specially designed to support the leading cinema audio formats, including Dolby® Atmos™. Christie recently celebrated the 200th Christie Vive installation at Southern Theatres’ Movie Tavern Flourtown 8 in Flourtown, Pennsylvania, with the revolutionaryperformance of the product, whose unique ribbon driver technology and line array speakers helps unlock the dynamic range of motion picture soundtracks. And it looks forward to the sale of its 350th Vive Audio system by the opening of Star Wars® Episode VII: The Force Awakens™ on December 18, 2015.

Christie Vive Audio provides a hyper-accurate audio experience and unlocks the full dynamic range of the DCI digital cinema audio and supports leading formats such as Auro 11.1, Dolby Atmos, 7.1 and 5.1 surround sound. The complete solution features screen channels, wall and ceiling surround speakers that use unique ribbon driver technology in a single-enclosure line array design, purpose-built for cinema environments. Christie Vive Audio system continues to establish its reputation worldwide as the next standard in immersive sound for cinema.

Rounding out the impressive showcase is the innovative Christie Experiential Networks (CEN) at the booth, which comprises an interactive content kiosk driven by a Christie FHD651-T 65-inch LCD touch panel to deliver sophisticated advertising campaigns that communicate with and engage the modern, tech-savvy consumer in a wide range of markets, including cinema lobbies. Lately, CEN has made headway at several theater lobbies in North America, including Emagine Entertainment’s recently opened Emagine Palladium theatre in Birmingham, Michigan, and several more installations in the pipeline, such as Missouri’s Wehrenberg Theatres; Frank Theatres; Florida’s EPIC Theatres; Reading Cinemas and Spotlight Theatres in Georgia.
