Timewaying, a pioneer in direct-view LED cinema technology, is proud to announce the installation of Hungary’s first HeyLED cinema screen at Kultik Csepel in Budapest. This landmark project marks the arrival of a new cinematic era in Central and Eastern Europe, offering audiences an experience far beyond traditional projection.
A Breakthrough in Cinema Presentation
At Kultik Csepel, audiences will soon discover a completely new way of watching movies. Unlike projection, where light is cast onto a surface, the HeyLED screen is a self-emissive display—every pixel produces its own light. This makes shadows truly black, details crisp and lifelike, and bright scenes dazzling without compromise.
Colors appear richer and closer to what filmmakers intended, opening the door to a level of realism rarely seen in the cinema. For 3D films, the difference is even more striking: images are sharper, more stable, and far more comfortable to watch, with ghosting greatly reduced and depth rendered with remarkable clarity.
Measuring nearly nine meters in width and built from over two million LED pixels, the new screen will transform the Csepel auditorium into one of the most advanced moviegoing destinations in the region.
Ready for Avatar 3DThe timing could not be better. With James Cameron’s highly anticipated Avatar 3 soon to premiere, Kultik audiences will be among the first in Europe to experience the film in 3D on an LED cinema screen—immersed in a level of depth and realism that projection cannot match.
“After experiencing the unique operating model and stunning image quality at Inspire Cinema in Romania, we realized how HeyLED can inject new vitality into cinemas and unlock new possibilities. We are very excited to bring this technology to our audience at Kultik Csepel, where they will enjoy a truly unique experience watching Tron: Ares and Avatar 3D on an LED screen,” said Kris, Managing Director of Kultik.
Expanding Cinema’s PossibilitiesMore than just a screen for movies, HeyLED opens up new opportunities for cinemas. Its brightness and stability mean it can support concerts, gaming tournaments, live broadcasts, and corporate events—even in daylight or ambient light conditions. For operators, this creates new revenue streams and for audiences, more reasons to return.
Partnership and ExpertiseThe success of this project was made possible through close collaboration with Avian Solution, the systems integrator, where MD Andras played a pivotal role. Together, HeyLED and Avian provide a full turnover solution for cinemas across Central and Eastern Europe, covering product selection, installation, and after-sales support. The Romanian project served as a strong reference, paving the way for the Hungarian installation.
“We are very impressed with the HeyLED product and the professionalism of their team,” said business development manager Andras, Avian Solution. “Our collaboration has been seamless, and we are confident that together we will bring even more cinema projects to life across the region."
Building on Global SuccessThe Hungarian installation follows successful deployments of HeyLED screens in Asia, United States, European and the Middle East, where both exhibitors and audiences have praised the picture quality and reliability. The Csepel project, realized in partnership with Kultik Cinema Network and Magyar Telekom, underlines the growing momentum for HeyLED across Europe.
“We are thrilled to partner with Kultik on this landmark project,” said Andrew, CEO of Timewaying.“Audiences in Hungary will soon experience cinema in its purest form—where darkness feels infinite, colors leap from the screen, and 3D becomes more immersive than ever before.”
Looking AheadWith Hungary’s first LED cinema screen now underway, HeyLED reaffirms its commitment to transforming movie exhibition worldwide. More installations are already planned across Europe, Canada, Middle East and Asia, shaping a future where projection is no longer the limit of the cinema experience.
