urther to the announcement of the signing of its Letter of Intent at ShoWest, Barco Digital Cinema has now officially signed a worldwide contract with Cinemeccanica to develop and commercialize an OEM digital cinema solution incorporating Barco’s 2k technology, based on TI’s DLP CinemaTM technology.

The agreement marks Cinemeccanica’s formal entry into the digital cinema market following a long and successful history as one of the world’s leading providers of 35mm projectors, and after a year in which the company has experienced an increasing demand for digital cinema solutions and successfully completed its pioneering digital cinema installation in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Commenting on the agreement to work with Cinemeccanica, Sjoerd De Clerck, Managing Director of Barco Digital Cinema, stated: “We are delighted to support Cinemeccanica in this first step into their digital solution. We welcome their entry into the digital business at this time and are looking forward to sharing in its success.”
