Bardan Cinema Completes Eight Dolby Atmos® Installations For Caribbean Cinemas

Eight More to Be Completed By the End Of 2016
Bardan Cinema, a renowned full-service cinema integrator and leading digital technology provider, announced today the completion of Dolby Atmos® advanced sound system installations in eight Caribbean Cinemas CXC Premium Theaters located in throughout the Caribbean and Puerto Rico.  Caribbean Cinemas is the largest motion picture exhibitor in the Caribbean.

The milestone marks the halfway point in an extensive technology integration project that will ultimately see many new Dolby Atmos® installations completed for Caribbean Cinemas by the end of the year.  The process has enabled Bardan to develop a multiphase approach to deploying Dolby Atmos® which can be used as a template for future projects.
During the first phase Bardan helped Caribbean Cinemas analyze the benefits of all the immersive audio technology presently on the market.  With Bardan’s input, Caribbean Cinemas chose to equip all of their current and future premium theatres with Dolby Atmos.

“Dolby Atmos sound technology simply offers the best, immersive sound experience that theater-goers can find in today’s competitive marketplace,” said Vilma Benitez, CEO of Bardan Cinema.  “We salute Robert Carrady and his team for their commitment to offering Caribbean Cinemas audiences this truly innovative technology which brings movies to life.”

Dolby Atmos fills the cinema with breathtaking, robust full-range audio object-based sound, which comes from all directions, including overhead.  It delivers astonishing clarity, richness, detail and depth.  Dolby Atmos’ 3-D sound quality follows the onscreen story projecting the audio all around the audience, giving them the feeling they are inside the action.  It also conveys the artist’s intent, delivering the full impact of the entertainment. Bardan engineers and designers worked with Dolby during the second phase of the project to gain certification for each completed installation, thus synthesizing all aspects of theater design in order to bring meaningful, 3D audio to audiences.

The third phase of the project may have been the most challenging, requiring Bardan to support Dolby Atmos systems in remote, geographically expansive cinema locations throughout the Americas.

Every installation includes Klipsch Pro Line speakers for each screen, featuring the KPT-MCM-11 THX® Approved four-way cinema system, designed for grand auditoriums fitted with digital sound reproduction equipment.  The high output extended high frequency horn module, the KPT-Grand-HF-T, provides extra presence in more majestic-sized theaters. The MCM Grand is ultra-efficient and can distribute even sound coverage to every seat in the house.
  • High Efficiency: reproducing the most sound per watt vs the popular misconception of “the higher the power handling the better”.
  • Low Distortion: even the softest sounds are heard with clarity and detail, the loudest sounds without harshness or distortion.
  • Controlled Directivity: The accurate projection of sound which, in turn, creates a much more lifelike soundstage.
  • Controlled Frequency Response: Producing the required response to maximize various acoustic environments.

About Klipsch: Through the use of highly efficient speaker designs, handcrafted cabinetry and a thirst for real engineering breakthroughs. Klipsch the great American loudspeaker company, offers a diverse range of quality audio products including speakers and headphones for almost any consumer and professional application – including cinema, whole-house, wireless, home theater and portable offerings.  Klipsch continues to be the legendary high-performance brand of choice for audiophiles and aficionados around the world. Klipsch Group, Inc. is VOXX International Company (NASDAQ: VOXX).
