4DX Continues Expansion in Latin America with Openings in the Caribbean Islands

4DX and Caribbean Cinemas open First 4DX Theatre in Puerto Rico and Second in the Dominican Republic
CJ 4DPLEX, the world’s first 4D cinema company, announced that it has entered into a new partnership with Caribbean Cinemas. The agreement will bring 4DX technology to two movie theatres in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. With these openings, 4DX will be available in the Caribbean Islands for the first time.
 
Caribbean Cinemas, the largest motion picture exhibitor in the Caribbean Islands, runs their 57 theaters with a total of 463 screens in the Caribbean Islands, including Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, Aruba, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, St. Croix and Guyana.
 
The first 4DX location for Caribbean Cinemas is scheduled to open in this May and will be at the Montehiedra Towne Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which was recently renovated to be equipped with high-end cinema technologies. Caribbean Cinemas next plans to open the second 4DX location at VIP Multiplex in Dominican Republic.

As of March 2016, 4DX reaches 229 auditoriums in 37 countries, with a goal to add 200 4DX auditoriums in 2016. 4DX has been operating in over 9 countries across Latin America – Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Chile, Guatemala, Venezuela, Costa Rica and Panama. With these openings, 4DX anticipates to break more ground in Latin America.
