Moving iMage Technologies Announces Installation of the First Samsung Onyx in the US

Moving iMage Technologies (MIT), a leading manufacturer, distributor, and integrator in the cinema exhibition industry, announces we have installed the first commercial Samsung Onyx Direct View LED Cinema Screen in the US.  The installation was completed for dine-in theater chain Star Cinema Grill in their brand new Richmond, Texas location.

Previously MIT had installed an Onyx demonstration screen in Winnetka, CA.   The use of our DVL Frame, designed specifically for large cinema LED screens, ensured a quick, safe, and accurate installation.  Other MIT support products were used in this fully integrated installation: our Hush Rack, ALMS20L network dimmer, IMC2e automation and IS-20D power sequencers.

Jason Ostro Vice President, Development of Star Cinema Grill, stated "MiT did an outstanding job installing the Onyx system on schedule, and performed all the critical tasks in a professional manner.  We are very proud to have teamed up with Samsung and MiT to install the first 14 Meter wide (46 feet) Onyx system in the Western Hemisphere.  We look forward to partnering up on the next one soon!"

Tom Lipiec, Senior Vice President, Sales and Customer Service of MIT, related "It was a great experience working with Star Cinema Grill and Samsung to install Samsung's largest Onyx system.  All of Samsung's panels are safely and securely mounted onto MIT's DirectView DVL Frame, the world's first cinema-centric frame designed and manufactured for mounting and maintaining Onyx systems."

“MiT continues to raise the bar when it comes to their professionalism and flexibility in making this installation happen,” said Nick Conti, Business Development Senior Manager – Cinema, North American Display Office, Samsung Electronics America. “Their team was involved in the sales process since the very first meeting with Star Cinema Grill and played a pivotal role in bringing this sale to a close. Their cinema-centric DirectView Frame exemplifies the next evolution and market-readiness of the Onyx cinema LED screen.”
