Sonic Equipment Company invites movie theatre owners, exhibitors, and industry personnel not currently aligned with a provider and all those interested in obtaining Digital Cinema to a free informational presentation on Digital Cinema on Tuesday April 22, 2008 at 11:00 am. Lunch will be provided. The presentation will take place at the Sterling Six Cinema, 1802 East Street, Iola, KS 66749.
At the presentation, attendees will learn how D-Cinema works; will find out the costs associated with D-Cinema conversion and the cost of digital equipment, and will be presented with potential leasing options. In addition, all attendees will get to see actual equipment in use and will experience Digital Content, including 3D content. “There are a lot of questions right now about digital cinema. Sonic has done extensive research into d-cinema and has established relationships with providers that will allow us to answer many of those questions for exhibitors.” said Michael Covey, Digital Cinema Manager for Sonic Equipment.
Covey confirmed that Digital Cinema representatives in attendance with their D-Cinema products will be Susie Beiersdorf from DTS; Terri Westhafer from BARCO; Marlene Songin from RealD; and Sheldon Liberty, Cinema Division Production Manager, and Michael Hagan, Vice President of Finance, from Kneisley Manufacturing. Covey said a representative from QuVIS will also be in attendance. In addition, Covey indicated that Brad Bills, film buyer with Independent Film Services, will discuss film buying and booking changes in relation to Digital Cinema and Kevin Clune, President of Clune & Company Leasing, will be available to discuss equipment leasing options.
