MIT
introduces its IS-20 AC Power Distribution/Sequencer at CinemaCon 2011. The new IS-20 Series offers AC distribution,
sequential on/off control, and surge suppression for single-phase electronics.
The IS-20 permits manual or remote switching and sequencing of sound systems and
other rack mounted electronics. This can result in significant savings in power
costs as well as elimination of wear and tear on breakers and device power
switches. The IS-20 complements MIT’s successful IS-30 product which protects
digital cinema equipment from spikes, surges and RF/EMI noise.
All
models of the IS-20 include LEDs that indicate the status of AC phases which is
useful in troubleshooting. The unit
accepts up to 6 separate AC feeds and routes them through the switching
devices, then to the innovative protection circuit (optional) and then to
receptacles on the rear panel. The IS-20 series includes different levels of
functionality:
- Basic: Manual on/off
control of AC loads only. Loads controlled by heavy-duty rotary switch.
- Suppression + Remote:
Includes suppression circuitry plus remote on/off control. Relays replace
the rotary switch.
