MIT Announces First Sale of its Cine-Sation Effects Seating System

Moving Image Technologies announces that Pacific Theatres has purchased the first Cine-Sation chairs for their Pacific Winnetka 21 complex in Chatsworth, CA east of Los Angeles.

“Pacific Theatres is an institution in the cinema exhibition industry.  We could not be more proud at having them as our inaugural customer!" says Joe Delgado, Executive Vice President of sales and Marketing.

Peter Nicholas (UBC), consulting for Acouve Inc., designers of the effects format on which the Cine-Sation product is based, first approached Joe Miraglia, Director of Design, Construction & Facilities for Pacific Theatres, about assisting Cine-Sation in a beta test in one of their theatre auditoriums and graciously accepted the offer of full use of one at the Winnetka Theatres for 6 months.

“Given Pacific’s reputation, proximity to the Hollywood studio base and their long standing relationship with distribution, it made my job of liaising with the studios for content for the tests that much easier.  Having the support of Joe Miraglia and his cinema managers has also been of great value to MIT in adapting and productizing this technology for the North and South American cinema markets” states Nicholas.

“We tested the system for 6  months with 12 different titles and realized the benefit of Cine-Sation to our guests and business”. said Joe Miraglia.

Warner Brothers Studios, who supported the Cine-Sation testing by providing three of the full features, kindly agreed for their latest release (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies) to be screened in Cine-Sation at the Winnetka Pacific Theatre .

By special agreement by WB and Pacific Theatres, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is also being screened (with a limited number of latest chair designs) at the prestigious Pacific Grove Theatre.

Cine-Sation is a unique acoustic vibrating cinema seating system that is encoded with acoustically driven effects mastered individually to each motion picture. The effects are encoded at the Cine-Sation Mastering Suite in Burbank California and approved by the QC authorities of the relevant studio prior to the file delivery to exhibition.  For more information contact your Moving Image Technology Cine-Sation representative or visit Movingimagetech.com or Cine-sation.com.
