“Other Digital Stuff: Expanding the In-Theatre Experience” Announces Content and Speaker Line-Up

ETC-USC Sponsored Conference Examines Music, Sports, Pre-show Ads, 3D, Games and Mobile-Powered Content in Theatres
The first-ever conference dedicated to in-theatre content beyond motion pictures will feature industry leaders, clips and demonstrations of the latest in music, sports, pre-show ads, mobile-powered content and games, it was announced today by Charles Swartz, executive director/CEO Entertainment Technology Center at USC (ETC-USC).

Highlights of “Other Digital Stuff: Expanding the In-Theatre Experience” include a keynote by NATO president John Fithian; presentations from cinema concert innovators Emerging Pictures and targeted cinema advertising leaders Kodak, National CineMedia and Screenvision; interactive technology from GoldPocket Wireless and BT; and the latest in 3D trailers and cinema advertisements from REAL D.

“Other Digital Stuff” will take place March 10, 2006, from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM in Hollywood at ETC-USC’s Digital Cinema Lab theater. Attendance is free for qualified industry members and registration is at www.etcenter.org.

A progress report on the digital cinema rollout, presented by executives at Christie/AIX, Technicolor and the UK Film Council, among others, opens the day’s panels. It will be followed by sessions exploring music and sports; 3D trailers, ads and lobby displays; ad customization; and pre-show innovations such as interactive and mobile-powered content. There will be exhibitions of the latest advancements; discussions about technology and bottom-line issues; and an examination of alternative content that appeals to audiences.

“Other Digital Stuff” is designed for creators and distributors of content for new in-theatre platforms; exhibitors seeking to build attendance and revenues; and marketers and advertisers seeking to harness the big screen’s storytelling power.
