MiT Announces Formation of the ImageTech Service Network
Moving Image Technologies (MiT) is pleased to announce the formation of the ImageTech Service Network. This will be a nation-wide network of digital cinema-trained technicians and engineers with extensive experience in the cinema industry. MiT realizes that for digital cinema to succeed there must be a solid infrastructure of technicians and engineers to install and support this new equipment. Unlike service propositions from other major manufacturers, MiT’s service network is different in that it does not compete with the existing dealer, service, and in-house technical staff; rather it enhances and enables them.
The most cost effective manner to accomplish this is by utilizing the existing independent regional technicians, dealers and exhibitor in-house technical staff who currently support and service the cinemas. To this end, MiT has established this program to train, manage and support the services of its ImageTech Service Network membership. Service contracts will continue to be executed with local dealers and service companies, which preserves the competitive marketplace for services for the exhibitor. Local service helps to minimize travel costs and expenses while also minimizing response times. ImageTech Certified service technicians and engineers also have access to discounted service parts and lamps through MiT and our partner manufacturing and distribution companies.
MiT will maintain a Network Operations Center with 24/7/365 support services available to ImageTech membership. Member companies and individuals in the service network attend regular training seminars, are kept up to date on the latest hardware, software and product revisions and have access to factory engineering assistance and technical documentation. Membership benefits include forums for open exchange of ideas, including product feature and improvement suggestions as well as access to online troubleshooting databases, training, bulletins and service updates.
Ray Hallett, General Manager of Hallett Cinemas, states, "We are very pleased that Moving Image Technology has created the ImageTech Service Network program designed for the independent equipment dealer; after all, the digital projector is merely one component of a modern multiplex, but take away the sales and service of the projector and "Who ya gonna call" when you need seats, sound and screens?".
Mel Hopland, President of Bright Star Systems, said, “MiT is always thinking of the exhibitors needs with innovative products and services; Bright Star looks forward to participating in this new program.”
